Privacy Policy

Overview

SignalHitch is a Wi-Fi management application developed by StackBright. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and what it does not do. We are committed to being transparent: SignalHitch does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to StackBright or any third party.

Information the App Accesses

Location Permission (Wi-Fi Scanning)

SignalHitch requests the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permissions. This is a requirement imposed by the Android operating system — since Android 6.0, any app that scans for Wi-Fi networks must hold a location permission to do so.

Wi-Fi State & Network Information

The app reads the names (SSIDs), signal strengths, frequency bands, and security types of nearby Wi-Fi networks in order to determine which network is strongest and to perform automatic switching. This information is processed entirely on your device.

Data Storage

All data generated by SignalHitch — including your preferred network list, app settings, and switch history logs — is stored locally on your device only. This data is never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party.

• Preferred networks and configuration are saved in local app storage.
• Switch history is stored in a local database on your device.
• CSV exports (Pro feature) are saved directly to your device's local storage.

Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all locally stored data.

Data We Do Not Collect

SignalHitch does not collect, and StackBright does not receive:

• Your name, email address, or any account information (no account is required)
• Your physical location or GPS coordinates
• Your Wi-Fi passwords or network credentials
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or analytics data
• Usage statistics or crash reports

Third-Party Services

SignalHitch does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No data is shared with any external service.

The app is distributed via the Google Play Store. Google's own privacy practices apply to the download and installation process. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles data related to app distribution.

Children's Privacy

SignalHitch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. As the app collects no personal data from any user, there are no specific concerns related to children's data.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via an in-app notice or a Play Store update note. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
